Snowflake Obsidian is a type of volcanic glass that features a striking pattern of white or grayish "snowflake" shapes on its otherwise black or dark gray surface. These snowflakes are formed by the presence of tiny crystalline inclusions of the mineral Cristobalite, a form of silica. When the obsidian cools and solidifies, these crystals are trapped within the glass, giving it its distinctive appearance.
